Other Notes
It would be easy to write Red Right Hand off as a pusher. He's more like a cult leader ("he's a guru"). He offers to fulfill wishes, and revives dead ambitions. For a cost... but what? Loyalty? He doesn't seem to ask for anything in return, even acts or favors or worship. So he gives money, cars, praise... but what is it that he gets out of all this?
RRH haunts people, night and day, appearing to them all the time... is he some sort of creature that feeds on-- that eats, so to speak-- consciousness itself? That makes sense if he is semi-electrical in nature, able to ride lightning and wires, since thought is a form of electricity.
So why not just inhabit storms and power stations? Thought must have some nutrient he requires, absent in pure electricity. For all his seeming malevolence, RRH does not injure or kill; he keeps his victims alive so he can feed off of them. He takes over the consciousness of his victims, whom he makes see images of himself everywhere. So maybe he feeds off of thoughts of himself.
He is the positive charge-- your thoughts of him are the negative charge, and your body is the groundwire. Only one hand is red, the other is not. The first thing he does to you is "wrap you in his arms," like he's completing a circuit.
So RRH is a being (alien?) who can shapeshift but chooses to maintain human form for maximum trustworthiness. He has learned to get what he needs-- your thoughts of him-- by doing what makes people loyal; he hunts where people are most desperate and vulnerable. If they waver, he can appear to them friendly or fearsome, whichever sharpens their focus.
Ultimately, RRH is only as evil as a spider or any other predator.
