While dealing with all this, she is in a one-sided relationship with Mr. Blue, who sees all of her powers an extension of her feminism; evidently he is several decades behind with regard to women's rights: "I've heard of liberation, but you're in outer space." He calls her "arrogant," and says she is not "cool." She laments this, but still has a "warm desire" for him and even wants to meet his "crew" (does he have a yacht?). She wants to be with him, but on her own terms, as an equal: "Baby, let the one who love you come through/ Baby come through"... implying "for me, too." So she is stuck. She loves him, but wants him to accept her on her terms. He so doesn't like this about her that he is completely turned off. She still thinks he will come around for her, but she really needs to read the book He's Just Not That Into You. And she needs to find a person who can love her for all her self-empowerment... and powers. |
