Possibly, not unlike trying to date someone chasing stardom. You would be in awe of them... but so would everyone else. And since you aren't paying them to be awesome or famous, they have to go to work, all the time, everywhere else. Even Yugoslavia (so the story is set when that nation existed, between 1945-1992; the first miniseries are considered to have aired in the mid-1970s). We barely know anything about Suzie Lightning, but neither does her ex-boyfriend (we know little about him, too). He feels he "built a world for her"-- so he was instrumental in either her acting career, her superhero career, or both. Maybe even in attaining her superpower. The fact that he can sustain multiple lightning strikes and live is impressive. Maybe he is an electrical engineer who helped create the suit or other tech that allowed her to harness/control her alien capabilities. But now that she has it, she doesn't need him anymore, and he is resentful and lonely. |
