Other Notes
Sentient cars are common in fiction, from My Mother the Car to Herbie the Love Bug to KITT. Even evil living cars are nothing special, like Stephen King's Christine and others.
But Killing Machine is unique for two reasons. One is that she has two jobs-- racer by day, assassin by night. The other is that her driver, Highway Star, is in love/lust with her, more than many people desire their spouses.
Killing Machine does Star's dirty work in several ways. She can run down pretty much anyone, aside from someone with superspeed. Or she can whip round them to create a funnel cloud and toss them into the air, Either way, it looks like an accident-- who is going to believe a car killed a person on purpose, of its own free will? And who can catch them, since the Machine is capable of supersonic speeds (above 770 mph)?
Further, her trunk can produce "everything," including presumably any weapon Highway Star needs to complete a hit. For his part, he has a very fast brain; he is able to think his way out of any tight spot.
She and Highway Star have a symbiotic relationship. She needs a human to interact with other people, to set races and contract hits, and to fuel and maintain her. And he needs a car to get around; it also produces all his clothes, food, etc. And she also, somehow, fulfills all his emotional and, apparently, sexual needs. But perhaps that aspect is best left a mystery.
