Other Notes
|
On first impression, it would be easy to write U.S Male off as just another hyper-jealous lunkhead of an overprotective boyfriend. On closer inspection, he waits for three weeks to warn a stalker off his girlfriend... and then does warn him instead of just literally rearranging his face. Which he can do.
But what about on third impression? How does he treat his girlfriend without other men around? He considers her his "property," for one thing. We can assume he never lets her go out by herself-- who knows who might come after her?
As closely as he watches her, he never seems to blame her for attracting the gaze of other men, or suspect her loyalty. But is willing to punish the those men for their wandering eyes, which he just knows they have.
It is an interesting sort of jealously. He trusts himself, and he trusts her. But he doesn't really trust anyone else.
Also, his power is unique. There are those characters who can reshape themselves, or turn others to stone. U.S. Male doesn't change himself, but only the shape of others.
