Other Notes
Some other spies, ahem, always seem to be getting into one sort of scrape or another-- fights, chases, and explosions. Not so Secret Agent Man. We never see him fire a weapon, karate-chop an assassin, or "eliminate" a "liability."
No, our boy lives the high life, but somehow lays low doing it. He can somehow act the playboy while blending in. But this is his asset, his skill-- once they took away his name, he could be anyone. And so he is anyone.
What he does is full of "danger," no doubt, and many want to kill him. But kill... who? They don't even know he is. Even we, who hear this story about him, only know that he's a secret agent of some sort (and that he's a man).
Those who don't want him dead or captured aren't even aware that he knows their secrets.
He does have one weakness, like some other spies. Pretty faces and persuasive lips can cause his lips to sink ships, as it were. Or, at least, sink himself.
When we leave our hero in lying in an Bombay alley after such a slip, we know the odds are against him. Somehow, he always manages to beat those odds, though.
Does he use that luck to hit the casinos, like some other spies? Heavens no-- nothing calls attention to oneself like a jackpot.
